Technician

Position Summary: The Technician is primarily responsible for installing and servicing commercial security products including intrusion, access control, and video, and fire systems.

Position Responsibilities:

• Install and service commercial security devices/systems including intrusion, access control, video, and fire
• Complete final system testing upon completion of installation or service
• Interpret scopes of work and blueprints
• Abide by building code standards and company safety standards
• Identify and prepare pathways and supports for new cabling system installations
• Pull copper and coaxial cable in backbone, horizontal and riser environments
• Exhibit professional appearance and conduct
• Communicate with Service Coordinators, Technicians, Project Mangers, Field Managers and other co-workers as required regarding project or call status
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Participate in on-call schedule

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Ability to read blueprints
• Knowledge of electronics and excellent troubleshooting skills; ability to program a plus
• Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Technical degree in electronics or equivalent work experience
• Experience performing installation duties in commercial security or related industries
• Valid driver’s license with clear driving record
• Ability to drive to and from work office and work sites
